Healthcare AI Governance Framework: Operationalizing AI Governance in Learning Health Systems
This document is a free, adaptable framework to help healthcare organizations govern the responsible use of AI in patient care and operations. Informed by a review of more than 70 international best-practice frameworks, consultations with all 15 Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN) member organizations, and international feedback, the framework synthesizes global insights and healthcare sector perspectives into a practical approach to AI governance.
The framework supports a range of AI applications, including clinical decision support, medical imaging, automated clinical documentation, generative AI, and autonomous AI systems.
The framework was developed through the T-CAIREM TAHSN AI in Healthcare Community of Practice.
