Building an equitable and inclusive health care system means taking meaningful action against anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism. TAHSN in collaboration with Ontario Health Toronto and community partners, has developed three evidence-based toolkits—focused on education, workforce data collection, and reporting racism (incidents of)—to empower health care organizations, leaders, and staff to drive meaningful change across all roles and levels.
Why These Resources Matter
Systemic racism harms the well-being, safety, and advancement of Black, First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in health care workspaces. Addressing anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism is foundational to delivering high-quality, culturally safe care for every patient and creating workspaces where the entire workforce feels valued and supported.
Our Shared Commitment
TAHSN is dedicated to:
- Advancing an equitable, sustainable health system by embedding equity and anti-racism across learning, care, research, and the workforce.
- Taking concrete, system-wide action on anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism, including structures for meaningful accountability and consequences when racism occurs.
These resources are designed to:
- Advance structural change and address anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism in the health care workforce.
