Overview
The Introduction to Anti-Black Racism eLearning Module is an informative and engaging module that is designed to support health service providers and their learners, staff, and physicians in their Anti-Black Racism learning journey. The module offers Anti-Black Racism education that provides:
- An introduction to the historical roots and ongoing legacy of Anti-Black Racism in Canada
- Insight into the forms that Anti-Black Racism can take in people’s lives
- Opportunities for reflection and/or discussion on how to address Anti-Black Racism in work and personal life.
For health service providers, the module provides organizations with the opportunity to:
- Offer foundational education that facilitates and encourages continued learning and unlearning
- Implement strategies to utilize the module as a complimentary and/or mandatory resource to support new or existing Anti-Racism and/or Anti-Black Racism education

TAHSN Guiding Principles for Local Implementation of the Introduction to Anti-Black Racism eLearning Module
The TAHSN Guiding Principles for Local Implementation of the Introduction to Anti-Black Racism eLearning Module should be reviewed by health service providers prior to implementation.
It is critical that the module is not implemented in isolation of an Anti-Black Racism strategy, that it is accessible to all employees, and that it is not utilized as part of a corrective or punitive measure. The TAHSN Guiding Principles can be downloaded below and includes:
- Background and context around the design and development of the module
- Guiding principles to support health service providers with implementing the module locally
- An outline of the commitment expected of health service providers that seek to implement the module
- An outline of options for health service providers to access the module
- An assessment tool to support health service providers with evaluating their readiness to implement the module
- Recommendations to support health service providers with tailoring the module to meet the needs of their organization
Access the eLearning Module
This 25-minute eLearning module offers an introduction to the historical roots and ongoing legacy of Anti-Black Racism in Canada, insight into the forms that Anti-Black Racism can take in people’s lives, and opportunities for reflection and/or discussion on how to address Anti-Black Racism in work and personal life.
A Certificate of Completion is issued to individuals that answer 80% of the assessment questions correctly.
Request for Learning Management System (LMS) files
Health service providers can integrate the Introduction to Anti-Black Racism module into their local Learning Management System (LMS) to support administering, monitoring, and evaluating their staff participation. Organizations have the option to access the SCORM package or the Articulate 360 files to allow health service providers to tailor the eModule to include their organization's policies, practices, and commitments.
